- EAR-RING
Phones will be low-powered,lightweight, ear-mounted, and equipped
with one follow-you phone number. It connects to the Net via the
Agent PDA.
- THE E-QUILL
As you write with this pen, it captures your scrawled messages and
beams them to your Agent pda or your Tube rollup monitor .
- INSTANT I.D.
By using new scanning technology that verifies the user's thumb-print,
the Agent will open doors to cars, homes, and offices. It will secure
access to your personal databases, such as online medical records,
and guarantee their privacy.
- THUMBS UP
Thumbprints will replace credit-card
numbers, I.D. numbers, mothers' maiden names, and the stream of
forgettable passwords needed to do business on the Web. The Agent
will be debit and credit card in one; e-cash at last.
- SHADES OF MEANING
A display on the eyewear will
show sensitive for-your-eyes-only information. A variable-tint lens
coating will darken as low voltage is applied to it.
- QUIET, PLEASE
Noise is controlled through optional
earpieces that electronically mute sound waves. Reconfiguring the
earpiece and display can give you a movie theater for one.
- MEDICAL MIRROR
Online medicine becomes practical
with a device that measures vital signs daily. A camera and LCD
screen analyze skin color and provide a real-time link to doctors.
"Point-at-what-hurts" interaction aids diagnosis. The
device lets you monitor your parents' health, too.
- SECRET CINEMA
A flexible screen curves out to
fill your field of vision and surround you with images and sound.
Glass speakers will be invisible. Roll up the screen and get a dual-use
room.
- THIN IS IN
Computer displays and TV monitors
are replaced by one lightweight, flat LCD panel that can be placed
on a desk or hung on a wall. Your Agent pulls up your personal desktop
configuration for work or for play. And so do the Agents for each
member.
- SPORTS WATCH
Thanks to low power, small sensors,
and sticky gel-adhesive backing, the Sports Watch does
everything without being bulky. It times your exercise, monitors
vital statistics, and analyzes performance. The hydro-gel is matched
to human skin so that as your skin stretches, the gel stretches
along with it. The gel passes sweat through to the air, is hypoallergenic,
and biocompatible. Photovoltaic cells provide the power. Performance
data is uploaded to your agent PDA for your work team or family.
- THE TUBE ON A ROLL
It is tomorrow's laptop.Voice
recognition makes a keyboard optional and a flexible liquid-crystal
display changes the form from a square to a scroll that rolls out.
Low voltage lets a pared-down processor do most tasks, and wireless
access connects you to the Net for such heavy-duty applications
as language translation.
A flexible LCD provides a large screen to read any Web-based information,
anywhere at any time. Dials on the tube itself show messages or
data received. analysis.
